Upload Failure

Upload Failure

Videos can be uploaded to ScreenPal's content hosting platform either directly via the +New button in your online Library or via the Share button in the app.

This article provides steps for troubleshooting uploads initiated from the desktop app.

If you are uploading directly from the website, the most likely reasons are:
  1. The file is larger than the 2 GB limit.
    1. In this case, first Import the video into our desktop app, then open the video there and use the Share feature to upload the video. This method will reduce the file size without negatively impacting the quality.
  2. A firewall or browser security extension are blocking communication.
    1. If you are connected to a network server that is managed by your organization, ask your IT department's network administrator to implement the exemptions listed here.
    2. To determine whether a browser extension is the cause, open a private/incognito window and try performing the upload there.
  3. The file is incompatible.
    1. If you suspect that this may be the case, use an online video converter to transcode the video to .mp4 format (with h.264 video and aac audio codecs).
