Show finger taps when recording on your Android device

Show finger taps when recording on your Android device

In order to protect your privacy, the ScreenPal mobile application does not capture user gestures, such as taps and swipes, for display within the recorder. However, you can enable the Show taps functionality independently on your Android device and our application will capture these gestures, drawn by your operating system directly on the screen.

This article discusses how to enable this feature on your Android device. For information about Apple devices see our article titled Show finger taps when recording your screen on iOS.

Configure Developer settings

1. Open the Settings app on your Android device.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap About phone.

3. Tap Software information.

4. Scroll to the bottom and tap the Build number ten times. You will see a message telling you how many taps you have left.

After you tap the Build number ten times, your phone displays a message telling you that developer mode has been turned on. Please note that you might need to enter your password or PIN to enable the Developer options menu.

5. Next, return to the Settings menu.  A new Developer options option should now be displayed beneath About phone.

6. Tap Developer options.
7. Under Input, turn on Show taps

Selecting this option will display all touch events on your screen.
