Can I import and edit an mp4 or other video?

Yes. With all plans, including free subscriptions, you can import a video file to use in the Video Editor. The videos you import must be .mp4, .screenpal, or .somrec files.

Please note that .mp4 files must be formatted as h264 videos (also referred to as Advanced Video Coding, or AVC video) with Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) audio within them. If you attempt to import an MP4 and you see an error message stating that it is not the proper format, you will need to update the video's settings. To import a video, open the Project Manager and click the Import icon in the toolbar at the top left.

Next, select a video file in one of the approved formats and click Open. The imported video is then displayed in the Video Projects area for you to edit.
