I tried to upload a captions file but received an error
When you upload a captions file from ScreenPal hosting by clicking Captions from File, you may experience an error where the captions are not displayed in the video Timeline. This issue occurs when your captions file is not encoded properly.
All captions files, including VTT, SRT, and SUB files, must be saved in UTF-8 format. You can determine whether the file is currently encoded in UTF-8 format by opening it in an application like Microsoft Notepad or NotePad++ and checking the application's footer.
If the captions file is currently encoded as an ANSI file, you can convert it to UTF-8 by doing one of the following:
Microsoft Notepad
1. Click File > Save As.
2. On the Save As dialog, enter a name for the file and select UTF-8 in the Encoding drop-down list.
3. Click Save.
NotePad++
1. Click the Encoding menu.
2. Select Convert to UTF-8.
