Add captions to a recording and upload to your account or to YouTube.
There are several ways to add captions to your recordings using our Video Editing tool.
Add captions from a file
- With a video selected in the Video Editing tool, click in the bottom right of the screen.
- In the box for Title, enter a descriptive title for the captions you are uploading.
- Select Captions from file and then click Start. The file manager dialog opens.
- Select a captions file and click Open.
Result: The captions file is added to your video and the Captions Text box is displayed on the right side of the page, enabling you to edit the caption text that is displayed. When you are finished editing your captions, click OK to save your changes
Add captions using speech-to-text
- With a video selected in the Video Editing tool, click in the bottom right of the screen.
- In the box under Title, enter a descriptive title for your captions.
- To run speech-to-text transcription on the audio within your video to create captions, select Speech-to-Text.
- Optionally, you can select the language you will use to record your captions by clicking the downward arrow next to the currently selected language () and selecting a new language.
- Click Start. The video opens and the transcribed caption text is displayed under Captions Text on the right side of the page.
- Edit the caption text as necessary and then click OK to save your changes.
Create blank captions
- With a video selected in the Video Editing tool, click in the bottom right of the screen.
- Select Blank Captions.
- Click Start.
Result: Your video opens on the left side of the page and the blank Captions Text area is displayed on the right. You can play back your video and manually enter captions and set sync points. When you are finished, click OK.
