Edit narration timing in the Video Editor

Edit narration timing in the Video Editor

Here are several tips for adjusting the timing of your narration in the ScreenPal Video Editor.

Video adjustments

If your narration isn't matching up with your video quite the way you'd like, try using the following tools to adjust the timing.

1. Add pauses by clicking Tools > Insert > Pause and then adjusting the desired length of the pause in seconds.
2. Speed up or slow down sections of video by clicking Tools > Speed and then selecting Speed Up or Slow Down.
3. Freeze a portion of the video by clicking Tools > Replace > Freeze Frame.
4. Re-record your narration or re-generate it using AI text-to-speech for a video section to which you have made adjustments.

Enable more precise editing

1. Use the magnifying glass icon to the right of the video timeline to zoom in on the portion video you are editing.  This will allow you to be more precise when you make changes.

2. Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to more accurately move the playhead along the timeline, adjust the position of your audio overlays, or adjust the Speed Up or Slow Down overlay.

3. Music and narration tracks are separated in ScreenPal. You can hide the music track in your video to better edit the narration track on the timeline. Hide music or sound effect tracks by simply clearing the Background Music or Added Sounds checkbox under Audio on the right side of the Video Editor.

Use AI Slides to Video

If you have a ScreenPal Solo Max plan or are part of a Team Plan with ScreenPal AI enabled, you can quickly convert slide presentations to videos. This feature includes the addition of fully-synced ScreenPal AI narration, based on your presentation's content.
