Configuring Zoom to Create Recordings Optimized for Editing
If you want to import Zoom recordings to edit in the Screencast-O-Matic Video Editor you should configure Zoom to create recordings that are optimized for editing.
Zoom calls this option "
Optimize the recording for 3rd party video editor"
or "
Optimize for 3rd party video editor
"
.
Changing this setting won't effect recordings you have already made and will only optimize future meeting recordings.
The setting is different depending on if you are using Zoom's "Cloud recording" or "Local recording" but we recommend you update both.
Configuring Zoom to Optimize Cloud Recordings for Editing
1. Go to recording settings on your Zoom account:
2. Check the box that says: "
Optimize the recording for 3rd party video editor" and then click "Save"
Configuring Zoom to Optimize Local Recordings for Editing
1. Start a Zoom Meeting.
2. Hover over the "Start Video" option and click the dropdown arrow then the "Video Settings..." option:
3. In the
Settings
dialog select "Recording" in the left column then check the "Optimize for 3rd party video editor" option:
