We support online or "cloud" backups. Perhaps you'd like to access your video projects on multiple computers or know that they are in a protected location in case something happens to your computer. In either case, our Backup and Restore can help. Watch the video tutorial for Backup and Restore or refer to the article below for assistance.
Prerequisites:
Our Project Manager includes a feature that will allow you to automatically back up all video projects. You will find this very helpful if you already have many video projects in your library or if you are regularly creating new videos. You also have the option to manage backups for individual video projects.
The Auto Backup feature is located near the top center of the Project Manager. The indicator is initially turned off.
Click the down arrow next to Auto Backup: OFF and the indicator tells you how many of your video projects are available for backup. Click on Enable Auto Backup to backup all video projects.
When you add new video projects with backup enabled they will be automatically backed up!
If you'd like to turn Auto Backup off, simply click on the same indicator and select Disable Auto Backup in the dropdown. Your content will no longer automatically upload into our secure vault.
Enable backups for a single video or for multiple video projects at the same time from the Project Manager.
Select the Manage Video Projects checkbox in the upper left corner of the Project Manager, and select video projects by clicking on individual video thumbnails.
Next, click on Add in the upper menu to the right of the cloud and lock icon.
All the video projects you selected will begin to upload to the secure online backup. You will see an up arrow in the upper right of a video project thumbnail that is currently being uploaded to backup storage.
Once completed, you can verify which video projects are backed up by seeing the addition of a cloud icon on your video project thumbnail.
Go to your list of video projects in the Project Manager. If a video projects is backed up, you will see a cloud icon with a lock on the video thumbnail showing that it is backed up properly.
If you'd like to stop backing up video projects and remove them from the secure online backup, you can do this two ways.
The first way is to click on the video project thumbnail to enter the video preview and click on Backup in the upper right. In the drop down at the bottom, you'll want to select Remove Backup .
The video project will stop backing up and be removed from our secure online backup.
Remove multiple video projects from the Project Manager.
Click on the Manage Video Projects checkbox in the upper left and begin to select video projects by clicking on individual video thumbnails to select.
Next, click Remove from the menu. Click OK to submit.
Maybe you accidentally deleted a video project from your local computer. You can restore this video project to your library in the Project Manager.
From the Project Manager, find the video project you would like to restore, and simply click the video thumbnail. It will begin downloading to your computer. You will see a downward pointing arrow and a progress indicator as the backed up video project is getting downloaded to your application.
Once downloading is complete, you should have your video project restored to your library and you can begin editing.
The easiest method is to enable Auto Backup . Once enabled, all current and future video projects will automatically backed up.
Alternatively, refer to the section on How to backup multiple video projects and make sure during selection of videos to click the All option.
Make sure you are logged in with the account that you backed up the video projects on and start the app. While online, the client will fetch any video projects from the backup storage and place their thumbnails in your Project Manager view. At this point, click on the video thumbnails you need with a single click and they will begin downloading to your local application.
We will safely store all your backed up video projects. Simply click on the ones you need and they will soon download to your application.
If you have one or more video projects that you would no longer like backed up, you can click on the video thumbnail in the Project Manager and click on Backup in the upper right. Now click Remove backup and the video project will no longer be backed up.
In the case of many video projects, select the thumbnails using the Manage Video Projects checkbox in the upper left and the click on video thumbnails to select. Click on Remove to stop these video projects from being backed up.
The video project will still appear in your list of video projects but will be backed up online only. This video project no longer exists on your local application and is no longer taking up space on your hard drive.
To retrieve the video project, click on the video thumbnail and it will begin downloading to your local application.
As long as you didn't commit the deletes, you will still be able to retrieve the video project. However if these deletes were committed, your video project has been permanently deleted. You can see the Content Manager tutorial for more information.
Yes. Once the local video project is edited, it will be automatically backed online.
Make sure you are logged in to your Premier, Max, or Team (admin enabled) account in the application. If you do not see it, you may not be logged in or don't have the feature enabled for your subscription .
If you cancel your subscription or downgrade to Deluxe, backups will be removed soon after you cancel or downgrade.
The application waits until you are back online to backup/restore.
If you have made edits across two or more computers while offline, all of the edits will show up in the edit history, but only the latest edit from the last computer that came online will be the copy that is stored in backup. If this is not the version you want, you can use the Edit History feature to find the proper revision.
Yes you can. The process is the same as backing up created recordings.
You can use multiple accounts with the our app, however you will only be able to backup files with a Premier, Max or Team (admin enabled) account .
If you receive the error "Failed to connect to online backup!" Check to make sure you have internet connectivity. If so, please then check if an antivirus software may be hindering connectivity to backing up. Also, check with your network administrator that a proxy is not interfering with the connection.
Yes. The backup feature is designed as personal storehouse for your video projects. There is no sharing involved. This feature prevents a loss of work and allows work to be accomplished across multiple computers.
